Sweet hearts

Though Valentine's day is behind us, today I would like to share with you a recipe for cookies in the shape of a heart. Maybe you need to apologize to somebody, maybe you would like to raise somebody's spirits, or maybe you just like to have some nice, afternoon coffeecakes. It is really difficult to resist the temptation to eat all of them.

Ingredients:
150g of butter
125g of sugar
200g of flour
1 egg
1 tablespoon of cocoa
0.5 teaspoons of baking soda
150g of cherry confiture

Heat the oven up to 180C.

Put the flour and butter on a baking board and chop it up with a knife. When you have the consistency of crumble, add the egg, baking soda and sugar and then knead the dough quickly. Divide the dough in two. Add the cocoa to one half and knead once again. Put all the dough in the fridge for one hour. Roll the dough out. Cut hearts out with a cookie cutter and cut small heart-shaped holes in the middle of half of them. Cover a baking sheet with some baking paper. Put the cookies on the baking sheet and bake them (the cookies with holes for 6-8 minutes, the rest for 8-10 minutes). Let them cool down. Put the confiture into a pan, blend it into a smooth mass and boil for 2-3 minutes to coagulate a bit. Spread the confiture on the cookies and cover with the cookies with holes. If you like, you can match the light sides of the cookies with the dark sides, or make bright and dark cookies.

Enjoy your meal!
