Caramelized grapefruit for breakfast, for dessert, for a snack

The grapefruit is an amazing vitamin bomb. It is a rich source of ascorbic acid and beta-carotene which strengthens the immune system. Red fruit have the most ascorbic acid. They are also the most bitter and so they are more rarely chosen than other strains. Grapefruit are an important element of a slimming diet - they are dietetic and speed up the metabolic rate. Additionally, they are low in cholesterol and regulate blood pressure.


We have to remember that grapefruit juice can interfere with the absorption of drugs. If you want to add this fruit to your diet, ask your doctor for advice. If there aren't any medical contraindications, you can eat this yummy fruit. Today I would like to share with you the recipe for a snack, a starter for a rich breakfast or simply a dessert. Caramelized grapefruit with maple syrup and cinnamon will steal your hearts.


Ingredients
1 grapefruit
2 teaspoons of brown sugar
half a teaspoon of cinnamon
3 tablespoons of maple syrup
3 tablespoons of almond flakes


Heat the oven up using the grill function.
Wash the grapefruit and cut it in half. Mix the sugar with the cinnamon. Sprinkle the fruit with this mixture. Add the maple syrup and bake for 10 minutes until the sugar is caramelized and has turned slightly brown. Serve at once with the roast almond flakes.
