The snap pea looks inconspicuous, so it is often given a wide berth at the market. This is a mistake because it has a lot of interesting properties. It contains a lot of antioxidants which slow down the aging process. It contains lutein which has a positive affect on eyesight, and the B, A, E, K ascorbic acid and folic acid strengthen the body's resistance. The snap pea is also a rich source of potassium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium and calcium.

The snap pea is the only pea which you can eat raw in the pod. You can boil them in water, steam or fry them. To keep the beautiful green colour of the peas, add a bit of vinegar to the water.

Today I would like to share with you the recipe for a swift snack with fried snap peas. It looks wonderful and tastes even better. You must try it!

2 fistfuls of snap peas
a clove of garlic
a chili pepper
half a pomegranate
a fistful of cashew nuts
1 tablespoon of olive oil
salt and pepper

I am not a master of confectionery, and my cake decorations are not always as I would like them to be. That's why I rarely make cakes. I prefer disorganized desserts and cakes which the more unarranged they are the yummier they are. This weekend my children asked me to make a cake with cream. Such a cake should taste strongly of chocolate and raspberries. And so a chocolate-raspberry cake was created; however, I baked it in a square cake tin rather than a springform pan. Who said that small cakes should always be cut into triangles? My small cake was beautiful and yummy and it doesn't require any proficiency in decoration. I recommend it to everybody.

200g of flour
125g of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of baking powder
3 tablespoons of cocoa
6 tablespoons of oil
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
2 tablespoons of raspberry jam
1 tablespoon of apple vinegar
225ml of water
100g of chocolate drops
150g of 30% sweet cream
250g of mascarpone cheese
100g of dark chocolate
1 teaspoon of caster sugar
5 tablespoons of raspberry jam

The grapefruit is an amazing vitamin bomb. It is a rich source of ascorbic acid and beta-carotene which strengthens the immune system. Red fruit have the most ascorbic acid. They are also the most bitter and so they are more rarely chosen than other strains. Grapefruit are an important element of a slimming diet - they are dietetic and speed up the metabolic rate. Additionally, they are low in cholesterol and regulate blood pressure.

We have to remember that grapefruit juice can interfere with the absorption of drugs. If you want to add this fruit to your diet, ask your doctor for advice. If there aren't any medical contraindications, you can eat this yummy fruit. Today I would like to share with you the recipe for a snack, a starter for a rich breakfast or simply a dessert. Caramelized grapefruit with maple syrup and cinnamon will steal your hearts.

1 grapefruit
2 teaspoons of brown sugar
half a teaspoon of cinnamon
3 tablespoons of maple syrup
3 tablespoons of almond flakes

Though some people can't believe it, tomato sauce for spaghetti needn't contain any meat. My son likes spaghetti only with tomato sauce with meat balls or traditional spaghetti Bolognese. Apparently, anything different is inedible. Today he learnt that it isn't true. The penne was excellent with fragrant tomato sauce with chickpeas. The meal was so great that even my young sceptic asked for seconds. He didn't buy into Parmesan, but it isn't possible to have everything, is it?

Ingredients (for 2 people)
150g of penne
1 tin of tomato
1 onion
2 clove of garlic
half a chili pepper
2 tablespoons of olive oil
200g of chickpeas from the tin
1 teaspoon of oregano
2 twigs of rosemary
salt and pepper
